Where exactly is the Heart of Texas? The Texas Hill Country.

Deep in the heart of Texas lays a beautiful place known as the Texas Hill Country. Hill country encompasses some of the most beautiful land in the southern United States. With close to 14,000 miles of gorgeous terrain in this area to explore, everyone is bound to find something to enjoy. It is a place where hundreds of people visit each year to take in the beautiful Hill Country backdrop by enjoying the numerous lakes, wildlife, beautiful natural attractions and the wonderful old world atmosphere.
The Hill Country is made up of over 40 small towns that are tucked away in the hills. Each town has their own uniqueness and you can find things to see and do just around every corner. The best part about the Hill country is that all of these unique wonderful places are only a few hours from the major cities of Austin and San Antonio, Texas.
It does not matter if you are the outdoors type or the type that just likes to sit back and relax. In Texas Hill Country you will find something to entice everyone. Your options are endless in these beautiful magic hills. You can visit the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area in the city of Llano and learn about the history of the Tonkawa Indians or travel to Bandera Texas for some real authentic cowboy fun and attire. History runs rampant through this part of the country as well. You can visit a part of American history in Gillespie County when visiting the Lyndon B Johnson Historic site. Here not only will you learn about the influence of three cultures (Native American, Spanish and German cultures) on this area, but you can enjoy seeing the abundant deer, buffalo and even the longhorn Texas cattle. While there, you can visit The Sauer-Beckmann Farmstead; an actual Texas German farm that is a living history farm. Here, you will see a farm run as if it were still the 1800s. You can also visit Fredericksburg for more history. Here, you can learn about the German influence on visit the Texan culture or you can visit the National Museum of the Pacific War.
So whether you are the type that enjoys every minute of the outdoors, are a history buff, or just want someplace different to visit, you should consider Hill Country, Texas. The Texas Hill Country is definitely one of the best places to get away from the hustle and bustle of your every day life.
